Tan + black interior?

Well right now I have the full tan interior in my 95 explorer and its just a bit too much tan for me. Now I am going to get some new carpet and a new headliner so I was thinking of going with black carpet and headliner. Anyone have any experience with this? I figured it wouldn't look bad since the trim is already black. If anyone has any links to pics with this done please post them up. Thanks in advance.

Yeah I know; I already got a quote. It will be $350 for new black carpet all the way back and $85 for a new headliner. Didn't ford put in black dashes/door panels, etc?

Yeah I plan to get black carpet and headliner, then dye the carpet on the bottom of the door panels black as well as the speaker grills and possibly the top part of the door panels as well. I figure it would look good since the dash and center console trim is all black anyways. Would have ALOT of black then too.

No, I dyed the vinyl, and in some places I replaced it completely (armrest, glove box, etc).

A buddy of mine is a Pike down at UM. They just started a chapter at my school, they're pretty decent guys but get a lot of guff for being "spoiled rich kids". It's kinda funny actually, since most of the kids at my school are that way. If the money wasn't a factor I'd consider joining, but I'd rather spend the money on my truck or on our attempt to own as much of the liquor store's stock as possible.

Any recommendations on a brand of vinyl dye to use? I assume you just spraypainted the speaker grilles. And everyone says Krylon Fusion for the plastic. Maybe I'll end up doing all that stuff...

VHT Dye is what I used. Yes, spraypaint works fine on the grills, but they don't come off, you gotta take the door panel off.

About Pikes... all greek organizations are expensive, our dues are actually much lower than most chapters. The "rich kids" down at UCLA and USC down here have dues up to 3,000/year, not even including housing if they live in the house. The Pikes over at FSU just built at 59-bedroom mansion... you can see it at fsupikes.com, simply amazing.

In my opinion all of UCF sucks. If I wanted to live in a prison I'd just go to prison. My drug-addict ex-girlfriend and her deadbeat drug addict new boyfriend are moving to UCF.

Now the Sig Eps, I didn't like them. Little punks. They were all like impressed by their being a fraternity, which was good since nobody else was and they couldn't take that big a hit to their egos.

Been to UCF quite a few times. Didn't like it. It's at the bottom of the Florida state schools. Yes, even below UNF and UWF. It's kinda like USF but USF is a better version in every way.

Sig Ep here got disbanded forcefully, was funny since they didn't actually do anything that bad, they just got turned into scapegoats. The good thing is they were all banned from joining any other frats here.

In any case, what did you use to clean your vinyl before you dyed it draft?
