I have found a 2013 Limited and it has BLIS, adaptive cruise, active park assist, lane departure and lane keep assist. I plan on keeping the vehicle for 10 years. Do having these options increase the potential for a large out of warranty repair bill down the road, or are they pretty reliable? I drive about 12,000 miles a year.

1- it depends on how you treat your car
2- always take it to dealer for service
3-have in mind it's mechanical.

For the price I would by the 7 year Premium Warranty.

Especially if your holding this vehicle for 10 years.

One module replacement on these new vehicles is almost the cost of the ESP coverage.

Offtrac. What i mean is that it's even if its technology it all controls mechanical components.....!

I have all those options and love em. Do i expect large expenses if they should fail -ABSOLUTELY. As a resuly i got the premium care package -cost me about 1200 and financed it as 0% for 6 months.

The only non TSB item I have had to replace, other than the battery, was a bad right front sensor that would not allow operation of the Park Assist feature. I'm guessing that you would likely be looking at $2000+ for a 7 year Premium CARE warranty here. You can check with the dealer or at this site in Barrie, http://www.fordesp.ca/espnew.html
My 48 month Lease CARE through the dealer was $1175.
