I just bought this Mountaineer and noticed the temp gauge is not working. Any ideas on where to start?

does just the gauge not work? or does the car not heat up? or take forever to heat up? do you have heat out of your vents?

First thing to check-If you look at the fuse chart in the owners manual it is amazing how many go to the instrument cluster.

There are 2 coolant sensors, one talks to the PCM, the other talks to the gauge. The gauge sender is located on the driver side of the intake manifold. Look at about 2 oclock from the cam position sensor and you'll see it

I just tap mine and it works lol same with all my guages you should see my tach its all over the place
