Temp Removal of Rear View Mirror

I am wanting to tint the upper portion of my windshield and am wondering is there a way to slide the mirror off of the mount from the glass? Is there a small screw or something which holds it onto the mount? Sure would make it alot easier to tint if I can. Thanks

There is a small setscrew in the mirror base that holds it to the mount. unscrew that, and the mirror will slide up the window and off the mount.
