got the email overnight. gonna fax the Waiver sheet back at noon. waiting anxiously for my EPC to arrive ! :salute:

I got their email today, and emailed their liability waiver back to them. It says that you will receive the $100 at the end of the test after you send their survey back to them. It seems that you get the $100 after the testing is complete. They ask for updates after you drive 50, 100, 500, 1,000, 2,000, and 10,000 miles. So basically you send the survey back to them after you drive all of these miles. Some people could put these miles on in a short period of time while other people may take a couple of years to put these many miles on.

To clarify, the $100 is to be sent within 30 days after the test part is installed and items 1 thru 17 of the survey form are filled in and returned. Item 17 is transmission performance immediately after installation of the EPC, so basically the first time you drive it after putting it in.

We really appreciate your participation, so we don't want you guys to have to wait too long for the $100.

The higher mileage updates are to be filled in as you hit those milestones, and you can send the updated form back to the coordinator by e-mail as you hit those marks.

Thanks for clarifying this. So with all of the forms being submitted, when will the final 15 candidates be chosen?

Well, on the advice of our engineering manager, we're actually shooting for a number higher than 15 now, so anyone out there's who's still interested, please let the coordinator know.

Once we've got enough participants to satisfy everyone, the coordinator will post a note letting everyone know.

The first 19 EPCs were delivered to the coordinator today:D, and he indicated he would ship them today or tomorrow. There were actually 20 made in the first lot, but out of respect for the employee who let us use his 2002 Sport Trac as our first test vehicle, he's getting one of the first "production intent" samples. I plan to have it in his truck tomorrow or Friday.

Jimbo74, have you been notified that you're in? I think I see you on our list, but if you haven't received an e-mail, I can let the coordinator know to try sending it again.

I originally thought Borg Warner was designing them, and testing them, but your company is a tool company. Is your company an independent contractor designated for running these kind of tests on new parts before they go on the market? On a side note for Jimbo74, check your spam folder just in case the email is there. These email filters sometimes filter a little too much.

was surprised to see the company/phone number was in my home state.

the fax number in the email was not right; someone answered and gave me the correct fax number, so I guess everything's cool ? :salute:

hi Allbert, i have not recieved an email yet, or it is possible it got trashed as junk.

if you could let the coordinator know to resend it, i will keep a more watchful eye out for it. i would appreciate it. thanks...

i am really anxious to be part of this test, its cool to be a test mule ;)

The company we've got running our fleet test is Valley Tool, a close neighbor to our manufacturing plant. The proprietor is an exceedingly entrepreneurial fellow and a great partner to our operation.

hi Allbert, I rechecked my email jsut now, and still haven't received anything

hey allbert, just sent you a pm

For what it's worth, yesterday afternoon, I installed one of the fleet test samples in our local test vehicle, the 2002 Sport Trac. The procedure went well, although as many times as I've been in this transmission, I should've installed a drain plug the first time I took the pan off. All the same, it was all very straightforward.

As far as the prototype that had been in the transmission since May of this year, a graph of the pressure vs. current curves for when it was new and how it is now is attached. What we were looking for, and saw, was consistent performance. 6000+ miles of operation in dirty old transmission fluid doesn't seem to have hurt the part, so that was good news. :)
