i'm really sorry you all have to see Erics ugly mug so much in these

Ok, it's starting to look good. But I'm still not putting down my popcorn and diet cherry Dr Pepper (Swore off the alcohol 7 years ago). Still too much work to be done.
Looks like Mr Fabricator man is having way too much fun. He's dressed like a real Fabricator though with his Carharts (which BTW are way to clean) and gloves.
For the cab area, are you going over cab, inside or both as in exo? The way you guys wheel...better do both ha ha.

Eric is an excellent fabricator... Jon's been working with him so much I'd say he's starting to catch up too, from what I've seen anyway. I typically only see the stuff on Jon's rig, not so much their other projects.

yeah Rick I swore off alcohol 2 years ago and never looked back, about the same time I started building this funnily enough. yeah ERic is just trying to look cool, he just got those Carharts for free, and now he rocks them everywhere, lol. as for the front, well... Yes

you flatter me Heath, Eric is a really good fabricator, I just try to learn as I go. It is nice to have someone to show me the ropes.

I told Jon the first night I wore those I look like a rookie now cause they are clean :D:D

And yes I am having fun.

As far as the second question yes, and ummm no. Should be interesting, gonna take a whole lot of measuring and careful tube bending along with some careful cutting. We will pull it off and it will be way cool. Gonna start working on that part tomorrow night

I win. Just starting to get worn in after 15 years. Long overdue on an oil change, other then beating a few flames out while I was in it, it's in fine shape.

whoa 15 years. Mine don't last nearly that long. I try not to weld too much in them but always forget, my nice insulated ones I wear in the winter are a couple years old and they are lasting pretty good but those bibs I am wearing are brand new and already have several burn marks on them

I've got just enough  left for this weekend! Get R done. Needs cage.

spent all friday night on this nightmare,

6EC-8B141BD0CCB4-5594-000005BCAFCFF587_zps6a46229d.jpg

still needs tweaked just a little bit, we have a lot of work still to do, and a lot of finish welding.

got a little distracted and took the explorer out on the desert on sunday, its a whole different animal driving a stock rig around out there. The main difference is that the 31's don't roll over bumps like 35's do. here is the exploder,

decided while Eric was gone I would start on my skidplate, I didn't have a full sheet of 1/4" but I had quite a bit of 1/4" 4" wide flat bar, so I cut them in lengths and welded them together, then I cut the hole for the doubler into it and bent up my only piece of 1/4" for that. I have some 3/16" that I am gonna laminate that passenger side with and also some angle iron that I will weld onto the top to stiffen it up. MUCH more ground clearance than the previous skid. and it looks much nicer as well.

finished the skid plate, counter sunk the bolts and got her mounted up, I'll post a pic of it tomorrow, I turtelled it on a rock today didn't even phase it

the front isn't done but the back is mostly there, need a tube or 2 to finish up the space on the back, I think its looking pretty *****in. we had an event at a friend of ours shop today so we took the RTI ramp and played a bit, its actually the only pic I have of the cage as it sits. here it is on the ramp,

not this time but the next time I scored a 836 on a 30 degree ramp, not to bad

damn women drivers, she payed for this one I can tell you, good thing she is good looking! haha actually I didn't really care all that much, it seriously made me think about narrowing the front though.

I got tired of replacing that plastic crap after busting it up several times including couple of front fenders. I'd narrow or throw some steel up there. I've even removed the front fenders on a couple of wheeling trips, via quick disconnects.
What happened to the cage build?

Eric went to the ultra 4 race in California, then he was sick this past weekend. We will work on it again in the next 2 weeks or so. Got a run this weekend and a Cherokee we are putting an 8.8 in and building bumpers for. When there is the hope of money your own stuff gets pushed to the back haha.

looks like we are gonna start back up on the cage this week sometime, the back is stiff enough that it's making the front body flex and cracked the body lol. need to get that front cage in there.

I'll believe when I see it, jk. That's the problem when chopping the top with no full cage. I've seen several pictures of B2s that looks like a sway back horse when they do not have a full cage
You'll love how it rides after all tubed out.
On another note, what make tube bender were you guys using? Does it use air?
