This is for your enjoyment only...
Well, the night of car fun started at 6:30 this evening with a trip to the ABC store and one to the beer section of the food store. My two front brakes were totally gone... grinding metal... bad smells... etc. Well , we got the brakes off and went to put the new ones on and my friend busted a bolt off in the caliper. Yeah, the PITA one with the hole through the center that no local auto store has. So, after running around all over trying to get it, we went back to the shop and, at this point, the thought of going to a used car lot and borrowing one was sounding good. So, instead, we saw the F-150 work truck sitting out there with nice disc brakes on it. Needless to say, the bolt from the truck is now in my Mounty and the work truck is sitting out there with vice grips on the brake lines to keep the fluid from draining. The new brakes are great with calipers and pads by baur and discs by Firestone. They worked great but it was a long night. Well, no story would be complete without the police, so on the way home, my friend (underage) was pulled in front of his house with no open containers but a bottle of Ron Rum, leftover bottles of beer and a hunting knife. Hehe... they let him go too. Oh yeah, did I mention that it was all free... sometimes life is good. If anyone needs any tips on brakes, I think we are experts now... nite all!
