Those of you with Cragar Soft 8's and similar

What is your centerbore diameter? I bought some Rock Crawlers last year that look like the Soft 8's, but returned them after I took a look at the centerbore. I believe it was 3.3". All of the Cragars, US Wheels, Rock Crawlers, etc. that I've been able to find have the 3.3" centerbore. Is this an issue that should be of great concern? I know a lot of you guys run Soft 8s with oversized tires, so your opinions would be greatly appreciated.

I don't have those, but the rims I have have a 83.8mm center bore.

Ok, so 83.8mm is about 3.299 inches

and no, it's of no concern as long as they fit over the hub.

The wheels are lug-centric, not hub-centric. Although the OEM wheels did fit snug on the hubs.

I appreciate the response, but I went ahead and ordered wheels last week. I first ordered the Pro Comp Rock Crawlers, but after not receiving a shipping notice all last week, I called them only to find out that they were backordered and they had no ETA. I cancelled the order and ordered some Crager Soft 8s from Summit that same night and I had them the next day. For piece of mind, I did order some Gorilla hub centric rings from Amazon for less than $18.

It's nice if the hub diameter on steel wheels fit perfectly over the stock hubs, but other than the steel wheel on the spare tire, this usually isn't the case with aftermarket wheels, since they try to have one size wheel fit as many different vehicles as possible.

As mentioned, the wheels on the Explorer are lug-centric, and so most wheels, especially alloys, will simply have a lot of hub space.

Hub centric rings are almost exclusively for alloy wheels, they probably won't do you any good with steelies. You're probably better off getting lug nuts that seat perfectly in the Soft 8's lug holes than anything else.

The factory lug nuts worked perfectly for my application. Not only do they have the same conical seat, but I also reused the factory centercaps, so the caps are nice and snug on the lug nuts.
