Is there any reason I can't use normal gasket material for this area? I have a whole roll ready to go and the gasket set I bought doesn't contain the gasket I need. The gasket that came off had several holes like it was designed for more than one vehicle.

My plan is to use the gasket material and cut out a simple rounded square with a big hole in the middle. :D

I'll be using Permatex #3 aviation form-a-gasket on the gasket.

I would say go for it however, the replacement gasket is at auto parts stores for about $2.

i see no reason you can't make a t/b gasket.

tip: when making gaskets i use my 1/4" drive sockets, an extension and a hammer on a smooth surface to make the bolt holes.

One good reason to make one: Local auto parts store is out of stock. I just finished cutting it out. Time to put Koda2000's tip to use now. :D
