Does anyone know where to look for the OIL PUMP pulley TIMING position mark on a 2.3L 4cyl '93 Ranger engine?

* I looked on the inside timing cover (I see a very light star/sun imprint)

* Illustrations I see show a 12 o'clock position, but nowhere have I READ this.

Shouldn't there be a CLEAR matching mark to the pulley?

Thanks

My Haynes book has the following caption under an illustration: With the number one piston on the compression stroke, the crankshaft pulley TDC mark will align with the timing pointer, and the camshaft timing pointer will align with the index mark on the camshaft sprocket (visible through the access hole).

Does that help any?
