Tips for buying used 5th Gen Explorer (2011-2013)

Hey everyone, new to the forum. We are going to be purchasing another Ford this coming year (currently have 2016 Ford Edge SEL w/ 2L EB & 2011 Ford Expedition Limited). This will be mostly for my son and he likes the 5th Gen Explorers (drove a 2016 w/ NA 3.5L just to test out and really liked it).

So I am looking for tips from the pros on what to look for. We are in Oregon so rust usually isn't an issue. I have read some threads on the PTU and water pumps on the 3.5L. Any specific ways to tell if water pump is an issue? Any other specific issues with the first few years of the 5th Gen?

FYI, I plan to change ALL fluids when we buy as I normally do (trans, diffs, coolant, oil, etc.).
