What's the best product for shining a tire. How do you keep it from spinning off onto your paint (this is my biggest problem)???????

we use something called bleech white at work... it rules!!!!!!!

You can use the tire wipes, they work well but if you have raised white letters that wont work. I just hit it with foam and let it dry in the sun.

I also use the bleach white to clean the letters but it doesnt leave a shine, just a clean black tire.

we also use another product called blue luster.... although i dont know if it is available to the public

Mud works great!! If you can't see your tires no one will know that they aren't shiny.:D

Haha...they should start selling mud for the people who don't offroad or go muddin'. :p

Anyways...I use Black Magic's tire gel. It gives a very nice shine yet doesn't spinning off your paint. Another good tire gel I used is Meguiar's Endurance tire gel. Both products can keep the tires shiny for a few weeks (without driving in rain or getting them wet).

I likw Zaino Z16.

To quote from Zaino.....
Z-16 PERFECT TIRE GLOSS

For many years I have been dissatisfied with the tire dressings on the market. They are loaded with silicone oil. They are very greasy, oily and messy. They attract dirt and dust like a magnet, have no UV protection, can cause tire deterioration, give an unrealistic gloss and wash off as soon as the tire gets wet. The tire dressing, always slings and gets onto the wheels and surrounding paint surface and causes discoloration and staining. I have yet to find one benefit to using this type of product. Z-16 Perfect Tire Gloss is a non-oily, non-greasy, rubber protectant and finishing treatment. Its unique formula with Ultra-Gard™ UV(40) and antistatic properties prevent drying, cracking, browning and repels dust and dirt. Z-16 leaves an incredibly durable, water repellent, perfect looking satin finish, that's only slightly glossy and dry to the touch. Use on all exterior rubber, tires, moldings, plastic trim, weatherstripping, underhood hoses and more. Just wet a sponge with Z-16 and apply to the surface to be treated and let dry. It will last thru rain and multiple washings. Z-16 is very durable and will last an average of 3 to 4 weeks on an outdoor car. Z-16 is not recommended for interior seats or vinyl tops.

I use Meguars Endurance.
I wipe it on good and thick , let it sit for a mineut or two then wipe it with a dry rag.
Doing it that way it does not keep " the wet look " but a nice luster with no mess. I figure with this stuff you have to sacrafice one for the other. It lasts about a week or two.

Jaks,
It doesn't sound like the product is your problem, but maybe it how you apply? If you use the BM Tire Gel, your all set. I sued it all the time when I hade my Accord. I never had to worry about it spraying off. You do have to wipe it on, so if you have white letters you have to work around them.

I have this sponge, it's black/yellow it came with one of the tire dress products I bought but I can't recall which one. The neat thing about it is that it's got thin edges, so you can work it around the tire without messing up your letters.

If I'm out of the gel or don't feel like wipping, I use this dressing called Black/Wet. It cost all of $2 for 48oz. at the Dollar General, this stuff is great. The only thing is the spray bottle is crappy, so I bought a bug spray thing so I can control the spray flow.

I usually spray it on as soon as I wash my X. By the time I dry the truck and get ready to ride it's good and set, so there's no spray.
