I said I had a '94 Cherokee. I still got a call, but that was just to make sure my 'Jeep' had a lift because these are 'very large tires'. You know, those 31's are HUGE! :D

Too late, your account has been marked. You may get by with the lie, but ive heard too many people try that only to get told "too bad, we know you have an explorer..."

Maybe you own two vehicles? It could be the wife's truck, or your tow rig, or your trail rig.
Won't make any difference, he has been "blacklisted."

I just made another account because, youre right, i couldnt change my vehicle.. so i had my brother make an account and do it for me :p no call... happy so far

Can we make a sticky in the Tires and Wheels forum with the bold letters "DON'T TELL TIRE RACK YOU HAVE AN EXPLORER"? One of these threads pop up every week.

According to Tire Rack, I have a 2004 Porsche Cayenne. ;)

how come they ask if your jeep has a lift, but not if your explorer has one

what if you put down that you were putting them on a ranger?

They only place restrictions on Explorers. You can tell them you have a Ranger, Escape, F150, Durango, etc. and they will sell them to you. I told them I had a Cayenne because the tire size for my 20s come stock on a Cayenne Turbo S.

What comes stock with 33's? I mean really!

Tirerack~ Thanx for callin tire rack how can I help you?

You~ Yes I'd like to order some 33"s

Tirerack~ Ok sir, that should not ba a problem. What sort of car do you have?

You~ O' I have an Explorer.

Tirerack~ Bwat Explorer! No No sir you can only order 235/75/15 for that car.

You~ Huh...Why.

Tirerack~ Beacause we can not sell you any tire size that is larger then stock.

You~ Ok what do 33's come on stock.....?

Tirerack~ Ahhhh...Ahhhh.. They don't sir!

You~ but you carry them right?

Tirerack~ Yeap! we carry 35's too!

You~ Huh? :hammer:

They will only let you buy stock sized tires for an Explorer. For any other vehicle, you can buy larger tires or stock size tires.

**UPDATE**

I had my brother start an account and order them saturday. We got a phone call today from them,(he sounded afghan) and he was asking my brother all these questions about if it had a lift and the max load cap. and my brother BSed it, and he was like ok ok, itll be ther around friday. :D :D

I had the same problem, and our company has an account with them, luckly I found some 35" Geolanders, and one one had to be ordered, I got it from my local Firestone shop here in town, they asked me no questions what so ever.

A '94 'Yoda 4Runner works, too. They had an option for 31s.
