8 Mos ago, I ordered four Moda 7 wheels, and four Kumho tires, all shipped to one of there 5 star installers in my area, all arives, I go down to get the install done, 80 bucks additional, all four rims are badley bent, no packaging damage, they call tirerack, explaine the problem, tirerack overnights 4 new rims, a plus for them, great service, back down to the 5 star tirerack rated installer, 3 rims are perfect, one is slightly bent, send it out and get it made right, 40 bucks, my cost, just want to roll, the deed is done, am happy, happy, next morn, all 4 tires are near flat, fire up the compressor, fill the tires, all the stems (metal) are leaking, call the 5 star tirerack installer, this is on a friday, says sorry, we cannot get you in till tuesday next.
Okay, I tighten the stems as they have external nuts, all is well, for a short time.
Have more stem leaks, take it down to wheelworks, they just laugh, hang loose dude, we shall show you what the problem is, they pop the tire and lo and behold, is a ton of corosion, between the rubber inner gasket, got a steel stem, got an alum wheel, got leaks do to, two disimilar metals, they wirebrush off the corosion, put a bead sealer on the stem and am good to go.25 bucks
come home, call the tirerack and rant, they have never heard of such a problem, send me out 4 new steel stems, back to wheelworks, two old stems leaking, owner is a friend of mine and I am a very good customer, he pops in 4 rubber stems, problem is solved, they do not look as nice, but the problem is solved, 50 bucks, my point is, any savings you make get online from a discount dealer, may come back and bight you in the butt
