Tires! Goodyear Dura-trac VS Falken Wildpeak

The Michelin LTX is unfortunately on it's way out, though you can still get a few floatation sizes. Both the LTX M/S 2 and LTX A/T 2 replacements are so far only available in P-metric sizes, with no LT variants. Sucks.

They are probably the best SUV tire ever for on-road, with good snow traction and incredible tread life, and also decent off-road.

i bought my explorer and it has the ltx's on it haha, but the sidewalls have small cracks in them, they've been on the car for probably over 8 years.

Well if you want to make some extra cash towards defraying the cost of the new tires, keep the LTX's when they come off, and sell all 4 (or 5 if the spare is good) on craigslist for $100 or so.

Lots of people love the LTX and will buy older sets for trailers, especially sets of 4 for dual axles. Even better with a spare. Even if you only get $50-75, that's still better than PAYING for disposal of each tire. Considering they are $150+/ea new though, $100 for a set is more than fair.
