Just wondering how many of you that have the TMH have ones that rub the shock tower? I can't insert a peice of paper between the header #1 tube and the shock tower. Wondering if the rubbing is going to wear quickly into the header, or may be such a slow process that it won't be a problem for my life of the vehicle.

*Bob did say that he will cover this under warrenty, I am going to keep an eye on it and see what the rate of were is, I hate to go through the pain of swapping it out just yet. At least until the cuts on my hands heal.

Mine is okay. Maybe your motor shifted after loosening the motor mounts? Is there enough play in the mounts where you can loosen them and coax the motor to the driver's side a hair?

It would be a PITA to loosen the motor mount as I would have to remove the header.
I am going to see how it goes as time goes on, will just keep an eye on it every month or so.

IMO paper thin is tooo close.

The drivetrain will rock from side to side, if the manifold is that close to the shock tower either something is wrong or the piece was made incorrectly.

I know robert inspects every header he sends out personally, so I suspect either you have the wrong part # or something is wrong on your truck.
Worn engine and transmission mounts can have your drivetrain sitting funky.

Can we see a picture of the situation?

410 is right. you know everytime you rev your engine it tilts the truck over a bit, in turn moving the engine and as a result messing up your headers.
i think section was saying was, try jackin the motor up the wy it is now and see if it lifts a bit...then you have a loose bolt. Another thing is maybe your header got bent.

Just got off the phone with Bob, he said that the #1 tube was out a bit more than the others on this particular set, but he thought it would be ok. He will replace it with no problem, but we agreed to leave it for the time being and see how it wears.

It might last my lifetime, the lifetime of the truck, or a year, who knows, but I am going to inspect it every month or so and see what comes of it.

Be easier to change out when the weather warms it it needs to be swapped out....

Next up 30# injectors and 80mm MAF, my achievement is 1CU per 1 rwHP.

Throw some lube on it so it doesn't wear through as quick! :p

Good idea, but what lube can withstand the heat of the header? Also, might be actually a good idea not to, because if it is going to wear faster than planned, then I would want to do the swap relatively soon....

I was 3/4 kidding. :p But, what about some cutting oil for the drill press and whatnot? Who knows. :D

If it continues to be problematic, then I will switch it out under warranty. Just keep me posted.

I also want to thank everyone for their support with getting the word out about Torque Monster Headers. I will continue to do my best to ensure an excellent product. Thanks.

well you have a future customer right here.....just sorta out of my budget right now.

I am going to get one of those dental mirrors to keep an eye on it, there's just not enough room to look at it w/o taking the inner fenders out.

Thanks Bob for all your support and help  I would certainly recommend these headers to everyone based upon the quality and workmenship, and the top notch customer service you provide. You seem to always to be available when I call
Thanks again Bob!!!!

I'm another future customer, but I need to get around who I'll get to do the install. With all the scary stories I've read lately of difficult installs, this sort of thing is well beyond my area of expertise. :(

Oh well, I can't afford them right now anyhow.

I don't think there is anything scarry about the install, just a couple of issues that require patience and persistance. It is not something you can do in a quick afternoon, but easily in a weekend. The right tools are a must though.

they are not any more tricky to install then a pair of factory manifolds really, its just a time consuming process and you cannot really take any short cuts.

Unless the shortcut is having internal EGR with a body lift. :p

Yep, it's about 30 minutes per side for me. :D :p

or how about nothing existing on the truck except the inner fenders?
30 min per side for me as well, at least right now!

I get sucked in all the time from people that tell me how easy something is. I'm not a great mechanic. I can do basic stuff, but it always takes me longer than it should. Trust me, a TMH install is beyond me. ;)

you never know till you try. i thought i could NEVER IN MY LIFE be able to swap out the axles on my blazer(sold it). But once you get under there and try it out, you start to figure it out and it comes to ya. Most of the hard stuff is just hype around it. But some mechanical knowledge is a must.

hahaha this is not rocket science. You never learn if you dont tackle projects beyond you. My first clutch took me and a friend more then 3 days to complete. A year later I could do the full job myself in about 6 hours with hand tools.
I had no idea what I was getting into years ago when I decided to put a 4.0L into my daily driver based on a magazine article I saw......now look at me.
