hello
to make a long story short i bought this truck in bits as the previous owner said it had a converter rattle.
it came with a "new" converter from rockauto and a brand new flex plate. when the mechanic was fitting these new parts the flex plate turned to be of larger diameter so it wouldn't fit in the bell housing of the box but the new torque converter fitted to the old flex plate.
anyway we put it all together it worked a treat and it is all quite and going to the gears like a dream however the torque converter will not lock and it throws up a code P0741 (torque converter slip above expected)
i have since have done another oil and filter change and also changed the solenoid pack but without an improvement
if i have it on the scanner and activate the lock solenoid i can hear a click so i think the signal is getting to it.
if i drive it with the life data on display on the scanner i can see th solenoid going to modulation and lock but there is no difference in the rpm reading over the converter hence i think then lock is not working.
has any one ever experienced this.
the truck has only done 50k miles
any help would be appriciated
