'95 Explorer Expedition
I have a '95 Explorer Expedition. After changing my upper and lower ball joints and taking a little drive to settle the suspension I took measurements to do a TT. I measured from the of the fender to the bottom of the rim. I got 28" on the driverside and 29" on the passenger side. After maxing out the adjuster on the driverside I just did get it to 29". I have read that second gens' have problems with sagging torsion bars. The two solutions I came up with are buy some of the torsion bar lift keys 1-3" and adjust them to get the 2" over stock. The other is to replace the torsion bars with ones from a Ranger and just keep the stock keys. I'm just wanting to clear 265/75-R16 tires on the stock rims. Thanks in advance for any response.

Hiya, not sure if this helps, I did the tt on my 97 when I put 265's on the stock 16's and found the standard bolts were too short to give 2" of lift, after a search on here I found a thread that said to replace the standard bolts with longer ones to enable the extra turns needed for 2" of lift. Can't remember the length of the bolts but do remember that you need to grind the end of the threads to a dome shape so they seat in the keys, after I fitted them 2" was easily achievable with thread to spare so after it settled you can adjust as necessary, worth a go,
Jim

My driverside is only about 1/4 from hitting the support with the bolt hubbed out, that is why I think the torsion bars are sagging. Thanks for the heads up on the bolts.
