TORTION BAR LIFTS & SPRING OVER

In reference to lifts on tortion bar front ends (Fords,Chevy,Dodge). Currently all lifts drop the bars which removes most of the gained ground clearance (and it looks like CRAP!). Why hasn't anyone offered a lift that removes the T/Bs and replaces them with coil-over-shocks? Up grade to coil-overs in the Stock location. I know it would take more clearance at the upper A-arms (a lot of lifts provide new A-arms anyway)and the shock mounts would have to be supported or changed, but it is so much better than having those Bars catching everything when off road. I know that Toyota has gotten around the "Low-T/B" problem on all thier trucks (i.e. T/Bs on top A-arm and now coil-over). Why can't the After-Market create something simular.

Sorry Guys; just something that has been bothering me for a while. What do you think?

Thanx so much for starting this thread! I've really been doing a lot of looking at my Explorer's set up, and really see so many possibilities. I think that the coil over shock to replace the t/b's would be great. There are so many front suspension replacement kits for older cars and trucks that already do this. I also wonder why the rear of the t/b's have to be lowered at all. If we could just put in those front drop brackets, can't a new lower control arm be made to accept the t/b at this angle? Or can the original be kept, and have custum t/b's made? How about a nice 4 link rear end set up? All this seems very feasible (sp), it's just that no one is building them for our trucks! Maybe some day! Keep on putting posts up a like this and maybe the guys from Superlift, or another company, maybe even Ford, may just read them and get some ideas.

Better yet, and I'm serious here...
What about a solid axle swap for the 95+ ?
I mean, it's gotta be possible...anything's possible but is it feasible? Could we use the front suspension off Rangers with the solid front axles or older Explorers? I know there's several issues here like engaging the 4wd for instance. I believe the 95+ do not having locking hubs but rather a special front end design. I know my '97 works smimilar to this: no hubs and has 5% of the power to the front wheels at all times.
There's that plus a bunch of other stuff I could only imagine.
Would it be a lost cause? More time, effort and $$ than it's worth? I know this can be done with 4Runners so why not with Explorers?
Please give this some thought and let me know what you think!
