My truck is due for new tires within the next 2 months. I'm not interested in puttnig 33's on it, I'm too practical for that. :)

I would like the tires to beef the truck up a bit, however. Right now I've got 235/70R16 BFG Radial Long Trail T/A. I'd like to go up to a 265/75R16 in a BFG A/T or a Big O or something. I do a lot of around town and only minor off-roading, but I do live in the foothills (3500 FT) and wind up in dirt and snow and mud now and then.

My main question is: Can I go 2-3 inches larger on the tire without encountering problems with the wheel well? What about mileage? Thanks for your input.

Your mileage will definitely go down, there's no way around that unless you do something to counter the larger tires, like different gearing.

You should be able to fit the 265/75R16, but best bet would be to have a tire place put one on for you for a test fit. Only way to tell for sure is to do it for real.
