Towing Package

How do I know if I have the towing package on my 03. I Just bought it 2 days ago. it has a hitch that looks very factory, and it has what looks like a mini raditor behind the big raditor, (my father has 08' F150 has a simlar item and he said it was a transmission oil cooler b/c his has the towing pkage)

You might wanna run the vin by a dealer and see if it's part of the package... Also, there should be a door sticker w/ codes on the driver's side. You might wanna have that visible when you're speaking to them - unless you can decipher that coding -

Door has an Axle code, mines a 45 which means it non-tow with 3.55 gears and Open Diff.

once you find yours somewhere on this forum are the rest of the codes and what they mean.

Mine shows Axle 45, but I have a tow package... Is your 45 under Axle also?

It has 45 under the axle code and the vin look up didn't tell me anything here is the vin

You can run the vin and talk to a dealer/service dept. They will tell you if your vehicle came with the tow package or not... and they can tell you what class hitch you have, etc...

Im reading the manual and it says that the towing package has a class III hitch that is a 2 inch hitch right? (i have the smaller one 1 1/4?)

yea the towing package comes with a 2" hitch. thats what mine has. its also got 3.73 gears. im willing to bet you do not have a tow package.
