Ok I know the bumper hitch is only rated at 3500lbs. The boat I plan on towing tommorow is a 20.5 ft and the weight is 3600-3700lbs. I know some people have twisted their bumpers a little. But do you think I'll be fine towing it for one time or I shouldn't even try it?

If you're mounting to the bumper, then i wouldn't even concider it....

Now, if you have at least a class 3 reciever hitch, then it would pry be ok.....

If it's not far I'd probably do it. You're only off a little :) I've towed vehicles over 4,000 pounds, but that's with no tongue wieght. If you mount it and it is slammed, or looks unsafe I might reconsider.

Definately go buy a hitch. No question, Ive seen too many destroyed bumpers from people trying to tow with them. The cost of a hitch is nothing compared to a replacement bumper,

+1

do not ignore tow ratings on bumpers :)

It ended up being alright the trailer had 2 axles so the tng weight wasn't much. Definately gonna pickup a hitch this week. Don't like pushin my luck too much. Thanks for all the quick replies.

look around on the forum, you may find someone with one for sale. I have one but shipping charges would be crazy.

Tounge weight isnt the only thing to concider, as trailer weight can overwhelm a bumper as well. Stop too quickly and push your bumper in.
