I just got my Explorer about 3 months ago and know I'm finally getting ready to tow my PU. I hooked the PU to EX and the rear dropped quite a bit that is without any camping supplies. My question is I just bought a pair of helper springs I was wandering has anybody ever instaled these springs and if they work are am I just wasting my time? I have another question about driving on flat open highway while towing should I keep overdrive off at all time are is it allright to turn overdrive on while traveling on flat open roads?

Finally installed helper springs

Well I added the helper springs today and I have to say that they help out the ride alot it helps on cornering and body roll to it actually lifted the rear up about 2 inches and the truck finally looks level now instead of the sag in the rear. Why ford put a round bolt for the centering of the springs i do not know the bolts were so rusted and there was nothing to keep the bolt from spinning finally we just cut the bolts and put new ones on. Well I have to thank my father in law he is a mechanic at the local ford dealership and he did most of the work It was nice to put the truck on the lifts instead of laying on the ground. Thanks for the advice.
