TPMS Question

Well, I've read a ton of threads on TPMS and am still unclear on some things. I want to buy some new wheels and tires but do not want to dismount my stock tires to retrieve the TPMS sensors. I have found that people are putting the TMPS sensors in a pvc tube and pumping them up to get rid of the light. The thing I am unsure about is if I buy some used TPMS sensors from ebay that are the same year as my truck (2004) will I need to program them? Or can I simply put them in the tube and be good to go. Any advice is appreciated!

Just buy a set of sensors and bands for your extra rims, you'll just have to reprogram them every time you switch set's, but every thing will work as it should, done. The blue sensors should be the ones that you have now. Good luck!
