I have a 95 Explorer that I can not get the brake lights to work on my trailer. Both turn signals work fine as do all the lights on the Explorer. I have checked all the fuses (twice) and they are all fine. I used my probe on the connecter and I have nothing there as well. Usually if the turn signals work so do the brake lights but I can't figure out what the problem is.

The problem is, you need an adapter....

The 95+ Explorers use a 3 bulb system....

The adapter is available from most parts stores....and Uhaul.

My 98 had a harness plug already wired under the bumper on the driver side, I went to the part store and bought a trailer harness for the explorer and it just plugged right in and I didn't have to fuss with the wiring. Not sure what year range it is good for. Best $13 I have spent yet.

My problem is, is that the prvious owner cut the plug off and the wires were taped off. Do they sell both ends to rewire it?
