Ok, first off, I did a search already. It did not turn up any results that were the same problem as mine (one was close, but trailer brakes and a 7-pin were involved). I have a hommade tralier I recently refurbished with a new deck, wheels, bearings, and lights. I bought a whole new kit for the lights, wiring and all. I have a '92 Sportie. I bought the vehicle specific (year and model) Hoppy connector that goes inline at the connector by the jack and tire iron. I tested at the 4-flat that is to plug the trailer into, and it works properly. I wired the trailer per the package instructions. Here is my problem(s):
1- running lights off, foot off brake = blinkers work correctly. They run a bit fast, but I have not yet put the heavy duty flasher in the truck.
2- running lights off, foot on brake = the trailer lights turn into 4-ways/hazzard flashers.
3- running lights on, foot off brake = lights work correctly, but VERY dim.
4- running lights on, foot on brake = light on trailer go out.
...what is causing this? I am going nuts trying to troubleshoot it because there are only so many possible things it could be. And I am sure it is the one thing I am missing (hence my post
)
Thnx for any help ya'll can give me.
