I have a 24' boat that weighs about 5000lbs. My dads yukon denali went out of commission for a little while and today we needed to pull it. I swapped out the class 2 receiver to a class 3. Put it on the back and it didnt seem to sag the rear end to much. I pulled it at around 2k and tried not to beat on the truck. Is it bad to do this for about 10 mile trips all slow speeds around 40. I had the overdrive off, and the truck does have a 3.55 rear

oo I forgot to tell you its not the eight cylinder I have the 4.0 and does it have the same suspension as the 8's

Weak link is the transmission, rear end gearing, and associated cooling, and braking. Keep it out of OD. If you are driving slow enough, even pull it down to 3. The point is to keep it in the same gear while cruising.

I can't imagine that a boat this large would not have trailer surge brakes. If not, keep very large following distances. If someone pulls out in from of you, keep in mind you have at least 10,000 lbs being stopped by brakes that were only designed for about 6300 lbs.

If you plan to do this more than occasionally, you are overworking your truck.

no the trailer does have breaks has disk
