Hello,

Having an issue with my trailer running lights not working.

I used a tester on my Explorer and the turn signals work but not the running lights.

Is there a separate fuse for the running lights?

I checked the fuse box in the engine compartment and the all look good.

I could not find one inside the car. The online manual says there is one under the driver side dash but I must be blind because I can see it.

Any ideas of what the issue is?

Is it a fuse? Where is it located?

Thanks.

Owners manual identifies a few different trailer fuses, but not specifically for "running lights". There's another fuse box behind and above the e-brake pedal, but you need the owners manual to identify the fuses

When I had a trailer, I upgraded the wiring harness from the factory 3 pin. Not sure if you'll get running lights with the original 3 pin plug

Thanks for the replies!

Yes, It was in the box by the e-brake. Yes, I have a 3 pin harness.

I figured it out.

There is a fuse panel under the driver side dash. It was just covered by a black plastic, so I could not see the fuses at a glance.

Turns out it was a just a fuse as there is one dedicated to trailer running lights.

Nice, glad you got it

Little late to this but having same issue. Just bought s trailer with running lights and plate light. They don’t come on (have only tried during day), which fuse is the trailer running light fuse? My 25 slot has one labelled as trailer park light and it’s good. How can I find out what the problem is? I’ve tried turning the actual lights on instead of using the auto on feature. Domineer to wait til dark when the auto lights come on?
