Tramp gets a new rear end

Ok guys,
I just finished rebuilding a new axle for Tramp. I used an 8.8" out of a '91 (thanks Hank) and stripped everything out except the outter wheel bearings (they were flawless) and built it up with a Detroit locker and 4.56's. A detailed write-up along with a few pics is on the way. The project was hard and very time-consuming, but with the right tools and a couple of well placed calls to Randy's Ring and Pinion to verify my measurements all went well.

If you plan to do this on your own, get a spare axle to build - it will save you a lot of headaches. The tools that are a must are going to be a dial guage with magnetic stand, calipers and 2 torque wrenches (standard ft/ln and an in/lb that will give an accurate reading at 14-19 in/lbs)

More to come soon!

Jon
