Tranny Flush

I have a 95 X with 124k miles on it which I just got a few days ago. I am wondering if I should have a tranny flush on it or a full pan drop filter change. I was once told that if it has never been done and has a lot of miles on it that a flush/change can be bad as it will loosen up junk that could get stuck in the valves.
Any advice?

124k isnt high miles. Go ahead and drop the pan and change the filter. Wont hurt anything.

Before you drop the pan you may want to drain some of the fluid. I have a how to in the link in my signature.

Drop the pan and change the filter, then do a flush.

I recommend synthetic ATF such as Amsoil.
