Hello all board members,
I'm a new Explorer owner that's why this is my first post.I bought an Explorer last night at an auction and it has transmission problems.I've been browsing the forums and it seems to be a common problem.No first and no reverse,however the OD light is not flashing.Rather than rebuild the tranny I think I'll go for a used swap as I'm pressed for time to get this vehicle on the road for work.My question is what models are a compatable swap?Info on my vehicle:01 Explorer xlt 4dr 4wd 4.0SOHC.When I search at carpart website i get a few options I don't know the answer to.4 Dr, Sport Trac, 4x4, ID 1L5P-EA (from 7/24/00) or 4 Dr, Sport Trac, 4x4, ID XL2P-DA (thru 7/23/00) or 4 Dr, exc. Sport Trac; 6 cyl (4.0L, SOHC), 4x4
I don't know if I have a sport model or not,how do I tell?What year models can i swap with,and does it have to be 4x4?Any help would be appreciated from the experts,thanks.
