Transfer case swap questions

Hey guys, I have a 97 with the stock t case in it that is non selectable. I want to swap to something that is and want to know my options/ parts I would need to get the job done

Whoops forgot to metion that. Its a v8 and I actually found one of those threads for the 4406 swap posted by MountaineerGreen but I still have a question or two
1. How reliable is the swap
And
2. What are common failure points if any

The swap has been super reliable for me and the thread that describe how to do it made it quite easy. 2WD is nice but 4LOW is such a good feeling !

Not sure of any common failures

That is what I have read. The only issue I might have is finding a 97 4406 with the speedo gear in the tail housing but Im really looking forward to having 2wd and save some fuel and put power down way more efficiently.
