Transmission issues.

Hello I'am a newbie to this forum and I'am in baddly need of assistance, I have a 95 XLT 4X4 and I'am having problems finding what my model of transmission I have, I would also like to know if a transmission from another ford will work in my explorer! Please help!

Welcome to this forum! I've moved your thread into the transmissions section. You have a 4R55E transmission. The 95 & 96 Explorer, and 96 4.0L Aerostar have this transmission. 97-up have a 5R55E which is similar, and could be modified to be used instead of a 4R55E.

I'm in the process of doing the same transmission for the third time. It's a 4R55E 4x4 automatic and exact model like yours. Lots of knowledges and informations from this website.
