i just recently purchase a 2001 sprottrac & a used transmission to replace.
i took the vehicle to a garage & they are telling me they have to remove the manifold, & heat up bolts on the head to remove the transmission & that by doing that the head will be damaged. i have never heard of having to work on the head or near the head to remove a transmission. i have never had any mechanic tell me the bolts are so rusted they could not get them out & would have to tap new holes when the bolts break off. is this a normal problem.
