i have a 90 ford ranger that had a 2.9 and i switched it to 4.0 trans bolted to it now i just got a 98 ranger and want to take 3.0 out and use my 4.0 will 3.0 tranny fit my 4.0? ty

It's likely it will, you'll have to look at the bolt patterns.

Although, the 3.0 tranny may not be as stout as a 4.0 tranny. I would see what kind of transmission it is and whether or not it was built strong enough for the 4.0.
