I have a 2000 v6 ranger. When the engine is still cold and im driving and come to a sudden stop, the engine will shutter and it will die. Then it has to set for a little bit before it will start back up. And no its not a clutch issue becuase it is an automatic.

...Where did the suggestion of the clutch come from???..

...Have you checked for stored codes???...When was the last time you did a complete tune-up???
...This may be a case of a dirty IAC..:dunno:..Do a search for IAC or Idle Air Control..;)

well i was expecting a "you arent hittin the clutch when you stop noob!" lol but anyways

read the computer, no codes. Yea i was thinking about the iac but on my mustangs when that messes up on my mustangs it usually throws a code

...I haven't received a code on either my X or the Ranger...I have had the CEL come on briefly and disappear with no stored codes on my X though...This is the only time I've ever got a CEL without a code when I had a dirty IAC...:dunno:

+1 for the IAC also clean the throttle body while your there
