Ok I need help here i got 90 Bronco 4X4 auto
The Bronco was driving fine until I came to a stop after make my mandatory stop I got back on the gas and nothing happened, just the motor revving, its like the trans was in neutral but I notice if you rev the motor around 3500 to 4000rpm the truck was moving, if you go thru the gear you can feel the transmission shifting. I was told that my torque converter could be gone. before removing every thing i need second opignion
what do you guy’s think :(
Thanks

Torque converter is a definite possibility....

did you check the fluid level?
in 90 I think you have an AOD.
the AOD uses a tricky input cable (TV cable, tricky to adjust)

Did you smell the fluid? Is it red or black? hear any noises when this happened? Have any slippage prior to this happening?

You might do a visual inspection first and see if you can spot any problems.

Thanks
Well since I am in the process of changing the motor (old one is ticking like crazy) I decided to got with the cheapest parts before tearing into the trans ;)

Your sig says 90 BII, is this a full size (FSB) or BII?

BII in 90 has a 2.9L EFI with A4LD trans :)
Full size bronco with 5.0L has a AOD-E

hahaha A4LD is partially computer controlled and also has a kick down cable.

But the above basics still apply.

2.9 BroncoII
i see you have a 5.0 in your i got a spare 5.0 that was going to swap in but since my son will be driving it next year the 2.9 will stay in there

5.0L = excellent :)

The 4.0L OHV is a PERFECT engine when that 2.9L gives up (if ever)
93 Explorer is my favorite year, especially with a 90 BII its almost a complete bolt in conversion!

I would go 4.0L, junk yard, you can use any year OHV block with 93 OHV intakes and computer and make a really awesome swap, cheap, with low miles. No more speed density, TFI module ignition either and enough torque to actually motivate a #3600 4x4 BII.

yep
if i did not have a good spare 2.9 that would have been the second choice.
but i need this truck on the road by the end of the month, snow i getting here and i don't want to use the mustang in the winter.
also the project hummer is taking a lot of my time (and money)
but i'm alwayse looking for a cheap 4.0 donor explorer, i haven't found one yeat, ether to expensive of to much KM's :(
