I'm on base and I pulled my valve body to remove a chackball, anyway. The wires that go to the solenoids got yanked out of the solenoids because I dropped the VB while they were still attached. I put everything back together and it won't start. No spark, no fuel pump. What's causing my problem?? I manually jumped my fuel pump and it still works. Something killed my whole system now I'm stuck here posting with my blackberry phone. I need help bad.

seeing as my knowledege is some what limited but can you reattch the wires the the solinoids? or are they kinda built into the unit like all one part ?
brooklynbay needs to get to comment on this . hope this helps if any .

maybe /also ...big "if" did you try resetting the computer by unhooking the batt and letting it sit for 20 minutes to reset it's self ?

I dunno wtf happened I didn't try unhooking and reconnecting the batt..... I did hookup the wires to the solenoid(s) though

Did you check all your fuses? You might have shorted something when you pulled the wires out of the solenoid and popped a fuse.

Notta blown fuse in the whole truck, all the relays are good. Tryed jumping the fuel pump relay (it turned on immidiatley) and then jumped the solenoid by the battery... Nothing happened. No spark. Truck ran fine when I got there.

I can turn the engine over like its fricken cool, don't think its the wires on the battery..

Could you have attached the wires at the solenoids wrong?

it dosent make a difference how there hooked up, its just a power/ground setup... everyone thanks for at least checkin the thread out im sure that somebody on here has had this problem before!

i,m thinking the solinoids have a polarity ....it's 12 dc powered not ac powered .

ac would make so that it dont matter how its hooked up ...dc does.

hope this helps

there will be blocking diodes on most solenoids and relays used in DC enviroments, they are there to protect the rest of the electronics from the inductive kick the coil in the relay (or solenoid) gives off when de-energized.

YES polarity does make a difference due to the diode.

pretty good chance if the polarity is reversed, you may have cooked a solenoid's diode, causing problems (they usuallly short if that happens)

when i first tryed starting the truck (like the first 10 times) when i turned the ignition i heard a "click" near the relay box, i stopped hearing the click after a while. i tested the solenoids out and there still holding at ~30 ohms each (within spec) BUT, i really dont think that these are the problem, the nuetral saftey switch is the only think that could be linked to a converter clutch solenoid (i think, not sure) AND i can turn over the motor in park, and neutral, which would mean that the neutral safety still works, because it dosent do anything if you try to start it in R, D, OD, 1, or 2.:thumbdwn::scratch::scratch:

something i might investigate if anyone else has had a problem with the ignition switch: could this be a problem with my ignition switch? i know theres alot of circuits in the ignition system, so if i can turn my motor over, does that mean that the switch is for sure good or is there another circuit that controls the ignition/ fuel system??
im running out of ideas quick. i have to leave for a month for a training cycle a few hundred miles north of here (29 palms) on monday (the marine corps probably dosent care that my truck is broken down):salute:

...just paint it od green and give it a serial number and leave it parked near the motor pool garage...by the time you get back they will have fixed it and also installed a turrant mounted .50 cal on the roof :D
