Oh, don't worry about talking crap about Jeeps around me, everyone has their favorites. Oh and Rick, I'm sure your Ex. will kill my jeep on the trails. Our CJ is only on 32" tires, locked up front and rear, 66:1 final ratio, full cage, 8000lb winch, on board air for tools and tires, and the Mopar MPFI kit for the stock 4.2 I6. Nothing too exotic, just basic and capable. We cruise through Rubicon no problem but wouldn't do the Johnson Valley trails and if I remember right I know I've seen pics of your Ex in there. I'll keep the Jeep for the rocks and the Ex for prerunning.

Is anyone bringing fire wood? I have some huge logs for the all night bonfire, but no smaller stuff:fire:.

First we let Rangers in, now its J*#ps, next there will be a Hummer or maybe even a Chevy..........how about a Subaru Outback or maybe one of those "full time 4wd" mini-vans?? HA HA! Just kidding......don't kill me JT.

My good buddy with an awsome full size Blazer might come too. He just got it painted and the underside powercoated, so we can take him through some tight stuff and watch him scratch it all up.

Fire Material

Take my word when an arsonist takes 5 gallons of gasoline and dumps it on the hood and in the bed of your 97 Ranger and sets a match to it it makes for a pretty hefty flame as well. I know it was MY Ranger. and the bast#@#$ got off scott free in trail.

BIG FIRES

Okay, it looks like we have one person willing to donate his rig for a camp fire. I forsee some problems;

1) Burning vehicles are toxic so you can't sit close and stay warm.

2) You can't roast marshmellows (see item 1).

3) Burning vehicles on public lands is a crime (hazardous materials, see item 1).

4) Depending on how many days we are out there, we need several more volunters willing to sacrifice their rigs for the good of the group (I am not going to be one of them).

5) Vehicles burn fast so we might need to light more than one up per night (see item 4).

6) If we lack the volunters, burning the neighboring camps J#@ps might be the only option, and they are touchy about that kind of stuff.

Not when I'm camping. Just consider me one of the guys, to an extent, I mean lets be reasonable....don't do anything really stupid and you won't get hurt...


I am, however, as Rick knows, a fully qualified Emergency Medican Technician..he he. Hey, somebody dial 91.. and keep their finger over the 1 button, just in case you roll....

I'm bringing my golf cart and if it acts normal one night I'll be in the mood to through it in the fire cause something always breaks that's inpossible to fix at night, and then the next morning you realize that it only needed a tap witha hammer to run again.
