in relation to Spas question above... i believe the only difference is that there wont be a heatshield like the K&N and the kkm isnt emissions legal as the k&n is.... but the kkm will be a lot cheaper :)

Out of curiousity, and someone correct me if I am wrong, but has anything ever come of this intake? Has the manufacture mentioned actually producing this? Is there any projected date? Which setups? Should people be putting off purchasing other intakes to wait for this one?

Sorry for the ignorance................

Robb

robb, posted above somewhere, the guy over at kkm said that it should have a projected time of spring 2003 if they decide to do it.....

KKM... you still around?

Yep, still here. We just ask for everyone's patience on a firm delivery date and price. Our original target date is late spring, which is still in anticipation.

Is there a plan for those of us with the 5.0???

I refuse to let this thread die. Bump

I'm interested, price isn't too much of a concern unless it's in the mid to high hundreds. This is an old thread, but spring is almost here, so ... yeah. I'm interested in a first gen tube.

I am getting anxious been watching and waiting for this. It's late spring now isn't it?

Are we close to getting a rough cost? My trail rig is just dying to open up with some more power.

I too am very very interested... I probably would've bought the whole assembly (if available then) but recently I was looking at replacing that stock tube as I don't think I'm getting a real good seal at the filter...thus losing HP and there's nothing worse than spending money and not getting the total benefit.

I may have to take pictures later to illustrate my point... I don't think it's obvious but I am concerned with the seal. Love to get a good fit from engine to filter for this unit.

Thanks in advance. I can't believe I missed this before?? 5 pages and I'm just seeing this. Argh

On a performace note, I still need to fire my Apten back to BH so I can overcome this torque bog. Frustrating...

 What's more frustrating is the newer vehicles like that Nissan MORONO which has 245HP off the floor and I shudder to think of all the $$ in mods I need just to get close to that. I guess I'll do exhaust next but I have a friend at work saying I'll get maybe a 20HP boost and probably not even notice it?? Is this true? :(

Yep........... That is one reason we have been very hesitant to offer a different intake pipe assembly! First off, the stock pipe will flow double the CFM of what the stock throttle body will. Second, you will not notice any gains with a smooth intake pipe on a non-forced induction engine. Bottom line is, the market demands it and thats why we are working on it.

I'm interested!

Anyone know if this tube will fit a K&N intake kit????????

You mean filter? Everything fits K&N's if they're the right shape and size.

HP or looks? No contest! I'm interested. Where do I sign!:bounce:

Well, Im asking if the kkm tube will work with my K&N intake kit? Im guessing it will since the tube connects to the MAF sensor then the filter.

But I dont remember and I could be wrong?

Btw, whats wrong with the Stock intake tube? I hear everyone talk about how restrictive it is and how it has the lines on the tube or whatever! The inside of the stock tube is smooth. It's just the outside of the tube. So what's so bad about it?

I just heard it's restrictive because of the turns it takes and how it really flattens at the fan shroud (for first gen, maybe not others). Not sure how the new one will look, if it's ever made.

Well, the sooner that something is available the better. With the 35's, I need all the HP that I can get.
