20007 ford explorer Ironm
Well...this weekend has been a pain. Purchased the truxxx leveling kit for my 2007 ford explorer ironman edition. All my struts are done except my front passenger side. Ended up having to order a new ball joint for it. So its going to be sitting on jacks stands for a week. Kinda sucks but thats not the issue I am having. I guess I just want to make sure i have this on the way its suppose to be. I also know there are quite a few users on here that have knowledge with this kit or have it on the vehicle now. If anyone can send me a picture or post it on here of what your front A arm looks like after truxxx spacer is installed on the front. I guess it just doesnt look right to me. My a arm is no longer level. I will try and post a picture today. But just wanted to get some pictures of the strutt and A ARM after the kit was installed. My ball joint doesnt look like its sitting correctly.

It is normal for the Upper control arm (or "a arm") to be angled downward with this type of lift as well as the upper ball joint. Think about it, by adding a spacer on top, you're essentially making the strut longer than stock. So the outside ends of the control arms get pushed downward further than normal, resulting in lift. The angle won't be as severe when the weight of the truck is on the suspension.

The disadvantage is that the upper balljoint is going to wear out quickly. To avoid that, you'll need to replace them every year or so, or replace the stock upper control arms completely with a set of tubular upper control arms equipped with uniball joints. BTF Fabrication makes them. See these threads for more information on these, as well as the price and how to order:
