Shackles and torsion twist were completed, easy job, but we just took our sweet time doing it.

My friend checked the height on the front while I torqued the torsion bolts. I topped the bolts out but didn't get 2". I know not everyone gets 2" but should I back the bolts out some? I've read that I don't want to go up all the way and heard that I don't want to go over 2"....so which is it? I got about 1.25" roughly out of it. The front fenders are sitting around 35-35.5"....

Hopefully someone can answer this...I'm sick of searching and reading everything over again without learning anything new...

Thanks,
Mike

P.S.- Shackles and TT need to be seen in person to really appreciate the difference! I love it! My friend is itching to get his done now too...

No you should be fine.. I didn't get 2" when I did mine.. I got less than what you did.. Every truck from the factory doesn't have the torsion bar adjusted the same.

EBI,
I think if you check out GJarrett's 'Herc' thread you'll see he had a similar issue. You can do one of two things; 1 - Buy longer metric bolts or 2 - Remove the torsion bar(s) and rotate it so that the adjusting arm is closer to the ground. This gives the stock adjusting bolt the ability to provide more lift.
I did the TT on my truck and got between 1.625" and 1.750" of lift with more to go. So, like Blee mentioned, each truck is different. If you want more than 1.250" of 'twist' lift, you'll have to look into the two items I mentioned.

Hope this helps - Dave.

I was washing today and noticed the passenger side was sitting up higher. Sure enough, my friend isn't as good at using a tape measure as I thought. The front passenger side is sitting close to an inch higher than the rest of the vehicle. I'm going to back the bolts out some and measure myself to get and accurate reading. I know that not everyone gets the same amount out of it, but didn't know if it would be a problem if I tightened it all the way up. Looks I'll just retorque everything to get it sitting level and I think I should be fine. Some people were saying they spun the nut like 3 times to get a couple inches, I swear I spun those suckers about 30 times. I'll get some pictures up as soon as I can also.

If I remember correctly, it seemed like I turned the driver's side bolt more than the passenger side. I would crank each bolt 540* (1.5 complete turns) and then drive for a week or so and re-measure. I did this over a period of a couple of months before I reached the lift I wanted (1.625" to match the rear).
Dave.

I'll keep checking it, I haven't taken it down any just yet. But will see where it ends up and keep adjusting accordingly. Thanks for the help.
