Does anyone know if the inflatable seat belts can be deactivated but the rest of the BLIS system stay operational?
Thanks!

Why would you want to turn it off? Short of maybe pulling a fuse which would probably take out some other system(s), I don't think you can.

although I have advised her not to, someone I know is commenting that she intends to deactivate her inflatable belts to be able to install a car seat in that position using the seat belt rather than the LATCH. I want to know if that is even a possibility

Just pull the sensor plug underneath the seat?
There's no harm deactivating these seatbelts; considering front and 3rd rows are not equipped with them.

There were no fuses labelled as being for seat belts that I could see in the Manual.

Ford designed the seatbelts to be used with child seats, should be no need to deactivate them.

Page 20 of the 2017 Manual depicts this (I had mine handy), look for 'Child Safety' in the manual for your year of Explorer.

Although that is true, many car seat manufacturers have specifically said not to use inflatable belts.

One must check the car seat manual to see if inflatable belts are allowed. Thus was discussed several years ago and if memory serves me, there were only a couple out there that were approved at the time.
