i mounted 4 tweeters in my car, one on each column in the front and one on each of the back panels above the rear windows. it sounds great. its like suround sound in my car
i have JL Tweeters. what i did was take out my head unit and find each door speaker wire. then i wired one tweeter to every one of my speakers. finaly i just unscrewed my columns and panels and hid the wires in there. very simple and easy works like a charm:redexp:
I just installed my Infinity 60.5 Components 6.5 today up front. I placed the tweeters in my A pillar. They scream from that location! I am powering mine with a Rockford Fosgate 100.2 Im not sure what your preference of music is but the tweeters in this location let you hear tons of background sounds. If you like that this is a good location. If you like loud music voices and such this location is for you. If you dont i would suggestion just putting them in the door like you had already said. I will post pics of mine tomorrow so you can see what im saying.
I mounted the woofers in the stock location using an adaptor plate and the tweeters jigh in the A piller. I tried the tweeeters in several locations prior to selecting the current locatio; they sound best by far in the A pillers.
The installation of the components made a tremendous improvement in my sound.
