The first code is P1152. The second is P1507. I was told that it is the MAF and the IAC. Do I need to replace these two? Let me know what you think. Thank you

P1152 Lack of Upstream Heated Oxygen Sensor Switch -Sensor Indicates Rich - Bank No. 2.

P1507 Idle Air Control Under Speed Error.

I would try cleaning the MAS and the IAC first, disconnect your battery while cleaning to reset the computer.

Is the best way to clean the IAC is to follow the directions in the MAF post? By flooding the IAC?

I have not read the MAF post, I would get some sensor safe carb or throttle cleaner (Auto Zone) or some electronic cleaner at Radio Shack. Spray the MAF well, do not let it run into the sealed housing unit keep it on the filiments spray it real good. On the IAC same, spray the plunger well till the spray comes out clear.

Maybe a pointer for me?

I was using the search function and found this post.
I have read others as well and have found a couple of different answer's but this one has been the only post ive found that list PXXXX manufactor 4 digits codes.

My 98 has been acting up off and on lately during cold starts, would actually have to give it throttle or would die. Never set any codes till yesterday and got P1507.
Ive had my IAC off in the last month just to check and its clean. The only other problem ive noted thus far has been higher than normal engine temps (as read thru diag tool) to the engine controls ie 104 degf after sitting all night @ 70degf
Watch the temp change during start/warm up phase shows no jumps or erratic changes.......

My Haynes man, has no 4 digit codes, is there a list somewhere we can access showing the 4 digit codes?

Thanks for any help you can give me.

I have had simular codes with my 97 SOHC. P1151,P1152,P0305, and P0300. I've cleaned my MAF, change plugs, wires, air filter... still getting codes every couple of days. Bought a ACTRON code reader, just keep clearing them, any ideas?
Thanks
Steve

Just keeping this one fresh, and maybe get some help.
Thanks
Steve

Having the same problem 1151 and 1152 on my 97 SOHC, checked for vacum leaks e.t.c., replaced plugs, wires, airfilter, oil. Will clean the MAF today. Also using the Actron for codes. Have you solved your problem?

How is it running? Are you losing coolant?

P0305 - Cyl #5 misfire

P0300 - multiple cylinders misfiring, or cannot identify cylinder due to Camshaft Position sensor failure.

Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) P1131 bank (1) (Cylinder #1) and P1151 bank (2) indicate the fuel/air ratio is correcting rich for an overly lean condition. The HO2S voltage is less than 0.45 volt. DTCs P1132 bank (1) (Cylinder #1) and P1152 bank (2) indicate the fuel/air ratio is correcting lean for an overly rich condition. The HO2S voltage is greater than 0.45 volt.

Possible causes:

Fuel system

-- Excessive fuel pressure.

-- Leaking fuel injector(s).

-- Leaking fuel pressure regulator.

-- Low fuel pressure.

-- Contaminated injector(s)

Induction system

-- Air leaks after the MAF.

-- Vacuum leaks.

-- Restricted air inlet.

-- PCV system.

-- Fuel purge system.

-- Improperly seated dip stick.

EGR

-- Leaking gasket.

-- Stuck open EGR valve.

-- Leaking diaphragm.

Base engine

-- Oil overfill.

-- Cam timing.

-- Cylinder compression.

-- Exhaust leaks before or near the HO2Ss.

l Check air intake for leaks, obstructions and damage.

l Check air filter, air filter housing for blockage.

l Verify integrity of the PCV system.

l Check for vacuum leaks.

It's running like new, no more 1151 or 1152 codes

Just cleaned my MAF for the second time, after replaceing plugs e.t.c. without success.
Now it runs as it should, the first time I cleaned the MAF I used a mild electronic cleaning spray but since that didn't seem to help I went to the shop for getting a can of carburator cleaner as recommened in other threads. The shop were out of carburator cleaner but I tried CRC's breakleen, this contains some acetone but apart from that the products are about the same. This help me, hope some of you get something useful from this, maybe you've been a little too careful when cleaning the MAF, as I were. :burnout:

Yes I did fix my problem. Cleaned the IAC sensor and had to replace the front left O2 sensor. Cleared the codes, problem has been fixed for about 3 months and 4000 miles..... :chug:
