Cut the bad out and patch some fresh metal in, thats about the only solid fix.

theres no way i can do that right now. i just dont have the money. 7.30 an hour at pizza hut dont cut repairs/matinance to a tank. lol

Rust is like cancer, if you don't make the time to tackle it soonish... then it will spread and be a much bigger problem. I just finished fixing the same sort of thing on mine... different than a few others have done it before. Should have a thread up in a few days about how i did it, it might be more cost effective, but requires a welder and a TON of patience.

Of course, you could just get a can or two of rust stopping primer from rustolium or the like, spray like hell, drill some holes in the bottom to allow water drainage, then click the plastic back on over it and start saving money and deal with it next summer (when you have funds) That way you can slow/stop the progression fo the body rot while not dropping massive coin and/or time.

i was thinkin a little rust-oleum rattle canning, duct tape and something to fill the rest of the holes when i take the gay side skirt thingy off.

Rust oleum won't stop it. It'll cover it, then in about a month it'll start bleeding through again. Cutting it off and replacing it is the only real long term solution. If it were me, I'd cut the offending section out so you're back to bare metal, then get some good self etching primer, etc., and paint the cut portion remaining. Spray some linseed oul or something inside the channel to help keep the rust from forming. Tape will only hold moisture in and create more issues.

The rockers are only like $40 from LMC truck if you want to redo them, that's only 8 trips through the Taco Bell drive-thru... :D

the problem with ordering from LMC etc. is i dont have a real bank account/credit/debit card yet. the world sucks balls. why cant you just use cash anymore?.....

Prepaid credit cards. You can pick those things up damn near everywhere.

Load $75 or so onto one and you're good to go.

I'm a part timer too, yet I managed to convert my truck to a 4x4 within a year. It all matters on how badly you want to get it done.:)

thanks iron weasel. didnt even think about that. ill get around to it HOPEFULLY before winter. i hope its a nasty one cause now that i got london and all. :D
