I stopped loosing coolant after I refilled the radiator and added to the overflow tank I haven't lost any fluid.

For some reason I looped the upper radiator hose over the engine oil fill pipe and this must have created a kink and cause some back pressure. Don't remember why I did it to start with but since I put it back the way it was supposed to be be, no leaking.

I got the replacement parts from Rock Auto yesterday. They have great service, I ordered the parts at 1 PM on Saturday and and got them Tuesday.

I still plan to swap the parts when it gets a little cooler.

It's in the way of other things and just askinf to be looped over the fill pipe, done it myself. Fortunately I un-looped it. Glad it was nothing too serious!

Been there, done that, more than once. (SOHC 4.0)
Changed the infamous lower t-stat housing this morning.
Despite the warnings, tried using the old sensors. Very loose fit.
Didn't have the proper sized o-rings and used silicone sealant.
No leaks, but time will tell. Not difficult, albeit tight spaces.
Would've helped to have spring clamp pliers. A one time repair, I hope.
