im stuck installing my new 12' jackhammer and mtx terminator into my explorer with the stock head unit. i have the old stock sub and amp out but now theres a silver box and i dont know what it could be i have rumor that it might be the cars computer? idk what it is. but how would i hook up the sub and amp maybe using and saving some of those cords. and if not how should it be done and can i just cut that silver box out possibly
any help would be much appreciated thanks

If it is a 96 and you have 2 amps by the stock sub, one is for the sub, and the other is for the radio. If you remove it, you will have no sound. Use that schematic and hook in with a line level converter from one of the speaker sets, then run a power, ground, and a switched lead.

Or you can also just splice rca cables right into the speaker wires for the stereo. It's free and works fine.
