i bought a 02 explorer 4.0 and its got the 2-3 shift problem and i was just wondering what everyone thought of this http://www.ebay.com/itm/5R55E-97-UP...ILT-4R55E-4R44E-5R44E-VALVEBODY-/281381157143 i was going to just buy and swap this in as apposed to rebuilding it myself for i have not much knowledge of trannys. looks pretty simple do you think this should fix the problem and is there anything else that should be replaced, im just trying to get about a year outta the tranny so i can make it till tax time to pay and have it rebuilt. rite now im kinda screwed being that i injured my ankle and am living off short term disability this seems to be the most cost affective/easy fix for me just not sure if itll work.

From what I've heard, the solenoid block would be the most likely cause of the 2-3 shift problem. Also, are you sure you have the "E" transmission in there? My 2002 4.0 XLT has the 5r55w.

hmmm i just thought thaT from what i was reading how can i be certain? mine is the 4x4

I think mine has the e 2002 4.6 awd
