Looks like it will be somewhat of a PIA to replace this. Any brand gaskets that are better then others? Other items I plan to replace when in there is the Driver exhaust manifold (cracked), spark plugs, wires, drain and replace coolant. Truck has 126k miles. I have owned it for 16k and am not sure on the maintenance before that. Anything else I should replace while in there?

Im a big fan of the blue felpro reusable, got them on mine, valve cover ,oil pan, and tranny pan no leaks so far and fit very well

Ok, since the upper plennum needs to come off, I suggest a new gasket there-
FEL-PRO Part # MS95953

You'll be able to easily get to the pcv valve, I would replace it with a genuine ford valve, and a new grommet. (clogged pcv probably popped the valve cover gasket)
PCV-Motorcraft EV 152D
Grommet -Standard motor products GV28

You'll need fel pro MS95954 exhaust gasket.

Plan on the egr tube breaking off ( you'l need to remove it from the passenger header to pull upper plennum)
Dorman part 598111

I would not remove the throttle body or elbow, as you will then need those gaskets also. This would also be a good time to replace the fuel injector o-rings , 2 on each injector

FEL-PRO Part # ES70599 has 4 per pack, so you need Qty 4

I might even be tempted to re torque the lower intake manifold bolts.

Hope this helps!

If you touch the injector terminals, the clips that hold them onto the injector will break, I guarantee it. Be prepared to zip tie the terminals to the actual injector if you do remove them. Also, if you're not replacing the passenger side vc gasket then don't remove the egr tube from the intake elbow just unbolt the elbow from the upper intake mani and then replace that gasket with a new factory oe gasket or just make one out of gasket making material. Thats what I did. The egr crap is usually pretty rusty and heat cycled so much it will break or strip threads so if you're gonna replace the passenger side vc probably try to work around the egr pipe and stuff without removing it.
